Spas Kolev awarded 2017 Environmental Chemistry Medal by RACI

Professor Spas Kolev has been awarded the 2017 Environmental Chemistry Medal of the Analytical and Environmental Chemistry Division of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) at a ceremony in Hobart.

Paul Frances, Chair of the Analytical and Environmental Chemistry Division of the RACI, presented the medal and accompanying certificate to Professor Kolev for extended excellence in pure and applied scientific work that involves substantial environmental chemistry, teaching of the discipline and service to the profession of chemistry in Australia.

Professor Kolev joined the School of Chemistry in 2001 as a lecturer. Before joining the University of Melbourne, he worked at La Trobe University, was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Sofia, and a Research Fellow in the Laboratory of Chemical Analysis at the University of Twente in the Netherlands.
