School of Chemistry host 2016 Victorian Inorganic Chemistry Symposium

The School of Chemistry hosted the 2016 Victorian Inorganic Chemistry Symposium on Friday 25th Nov.

The PhD student focused symposium involves scientists from all over Victoria with approximately 120 delegates. 

The day started with a stimulating plenary lecture delivered by Emeritus Professor Glen Deacon and this was followed by 12 talks by current PhD students and 48 poster presentations. 

All the sessions were Chaired by students and there is a prize for the best question from a student (received by Chris Kingsbury of the Abrahams/Robson group). 

Both Lachlan McInnes (Donnelly Group), who won the Bruce West Prize, and Samuel Spillane (Ritchie Group) won prizes for their oral presentations. Stacey Rudd (Donnelly Group) won a prize for her poster."
